Arnold Recht, is a seasoned litigator with over 47 years of experience in civil litigation.  Throughout his career, he has primarily focused on motor vehicle work, representing both insurers and plaintiffs with a particular emphasis on tort and property damage. In addition to this, Arnold has handled legal disputes related to property and business matters, showcasing his versatility and depth of legal expertise.

Beyond his professional life, Arnold has been married for 47 years, is a proud father of two sons, and is a grandfather to eight grandchildren. He is also heavily involved in charitable pursuits, earning an Honorary Fellowship and a Doctorate from a prestigious international university. As a result of those activities, he has obtained an Honorary Fellowship and a Doctorate from a prestigious international University. Although Arnold can technically be called Dr. Recht he prefers to be known by his associates as Arnie.

Arnold’s Mediation Fee Schedule


In-person or Virtual Mediations

For a two (2) party half-day mediation $975.00
(10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., or 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.)

* For each additional party $500.00
* For each additional hour $500.00

For a two (2) party full day mediation $6,000.00
(10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.)

* For each additional party $ 500.00
* For each additional hour $ 500.00

Telephone Mediations
One-hour telephone mediation offered daily from 8:30 am to 9:30 am – $350.00

* For each additional party $100.00
* For each additional hour $300.00

ADDITIONAL CHARGES
The fee charged includes all preparation and reporting time.  The cost of facilities, catering if requested, or parking will be an additional charge.  For travel requiring driving outside of Toronto, a kilometer charge will be applied. In circumstances where a flight is required, the actual flight cost will be charged. Any questions or concerns regarding charges should be addressed at the time of booking.

Cancellation Policy & Fees


A Mediation cancelled within 30 days, before the scheduled date: no charge

Mediations cancelled within 30 days of the scheduled date:

  • Half-day $3,000.00
  • Full-day $4,000.00
  • Telephone $350.00

For in-person mediations, any fees incurred by the mediator as a result of the cancellation will be charged back at cost.

What Is Mediation?


  • Mediation is a non-binding dispute resolution process
  • The mediator has no power to make decisions or impose a settlement on the parties in the dispute
  • The mediator helps facilitate discussions, assists the parties in understanding each other’s positions, and works with the parties in reaching a  settlement.
